A few weeks ago, I cut my finger making dinner. I quickly went over to the sink and tried to apply pressure to it and clean it up. I then bandaged it. It was a bad cut, but not bad enough for urgent care. I bled through three bandages. Right before dinner (2.5 hours after cutting myself) my sister rebandaged my finger. After dinner, my mom tried applying pressure to make it stop bleeding. When that didn’t work, she used a styptic pen to cauterize it. It felt like a bee sting and chemical burn all in one.
Later that week, my sister discovered the answer to my problems: Vitamin K. That’s what helps your blood clot. So bring on the spinach!
I decided to make a green smoothie. But the recipe I found online is not one I would recommend. The berries and spinach made the drink look brown. The color was only a warning of what I was suppose to experience. The smoothie was gritty and tasted like dirt! Yuck. Now I know why there are beginner green smoothie recipes.
I gave up on the green smoothie idea. I’ll find other forms of Vitamin K.
